After Care Guides
Dermal Filler Treatment Aftercare
- Directly after treatment you may experience some redness, swelling, pain, tenderness, itching and/ or bruising. Your skin will normally settle after a few days. You may apply a cool compress to the area to help reduce swelling and soothe the area. You may also apply arnica topically to help reduce bruising.
- For the first 24 hours, avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol as this may result in additional bruising.
- Until the swelling and redness have resolved, avoid intense heat in the treated area(s), this includes sunbathing, tanning, saunas, hot tubs, or hot wax treatments.
- Depending on the areas treated and the product used, you may feel “firmness.” These areas will soften and usually settle within 1-2 weeks.
- Sunscreen and makeup may be applied 4 hours post treatment, however, please ensure these are applied with clean hands, brushes or sponges to avoid any risk of infection.
Anti-Wrinke Treatment Aftercare
- For at least 24 hours after injections do not rub, or massage the treated area, or undertake vigorous exercise. After washing treated areas, pat dry gently.
- Makeup may be applied 1 hour following treatment but please ensure that this is applied with a clean brush/sponge.
- Avoid any beauty treatments (i.e.facials, brow waxing) and saunas, steam rooms and sunbeds for 2 weeks post treatment.
- Remember that the treatment will start to take effect after 2-3 days, however, it can take up to two weeks for the treatment to take full effect. The speed of action depends on the strength of the muscles injected and your individual response.

Avoid the sun and sunbeds.

Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, ideally SPF50.
-
Do not use active skin care products such as retinols, AHAs acids, until recommended by Emily.
-
Do not use make-up for 24-48 hours after treatment.

-
Do not take NSAIDs, for example, Ibuprofen, or Aspirin for pain relief.
-
Keep hydrated.
HydraFacial Aftercare
Avoid excessive sun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 40 sunscreen as the skin
is more susceptible to sunburn/sun damage following treatment.
Avoid the use of aggressive exfoliation, waxing, and products containing glycolic
acids or retinols that are not part of the recommended take-home regimen in the
treated areas for minimum 2 weeks pre-and post-treatment.
Lip Filler Aftercare
Looking after your lips following filler treatment is essential for the best results and a smooth recovery. Mild swelling, redness, or tenderness is normal in the first few days. To help your lips heal, avoid touching or applying pressure, keep the area clean, and stay hydrated. Following these simple steps will reduce discomfort and ensure your lips settle beautifully for natural, long-lasting results.
